A Year of Grit, Growth and Getting the Job Done.

News

As 2025 comes to a close, the past year has reflected the day-to-day realities of running a Scottish logistics and delivery business – steady growth, increasing regulatory pressure and a strong focus on getting the job done for customers across the country.

Based in the Scottish Highlands, M&H Carriers now employs just under 500 people and operates a growing delivery and pallet distribution network across Scotland, with our vehicles a familiar sight on roads from the Highlands to the Central Belt, and to the East, supporting businesses with reliable, time-critical deliveries.

This is thanks to expanding our local delivery services in Fife this year supported by our Perth depot which opened in 2024 and continues to play a key role in servicing all of Scotland.

A Proven Scottish Logistics Network

With decades of experience in haulage, pallet delivery and time-critical logistics in Scotland, our teams are used to working in challenging conditions and to a deadline – whether its a remote Highland route or high-volume urban delivery.

And for us, it is a combination of local knowledge, national reach and dependable partnerships that allows us to deliver consistently for customers across Scotland.

As a result, our operational growth certainly grew throughout the year, with:

  • Our Oban depot increased daily volumes from around 1,300 parcels to approximately 2,500
  • Our Perth depot expanded its in-house trunking operation to twelve nightly trunk runs, strengthening overnight links between Scottish depots and the Midlands
  • And by November and December, demand had reached record levels across our Scotland-wide depot network, with some locations handling double their previous peak volumes

All of which, reinforcing our position as a trusted logistics partner for businesses operating in and out of Scotland.

Recognised at a National Level

Of course, you might also recall that this year M&H Carriers was named winner of the Diversity & Inclusion Leadership Award (250+ employees) at the Scottish Impact Awards, recognising our approach to building a strong, inclusive workforce within the Scottish logistics sector.

This recognition was particularly meaningful because it reflected the everyday work happening across the business, rather than a single initiative. It also acknowledged M&H Carriers’ focus on building an inclusive workplace through practical action, from supporting people into roles within the logistics sector, to creating clear pathways for progression, investing in training, and fostering a culture where people feel respected, supported and able to succeed.

In an industry often defined by pace and pressure, the approach has been about consistency and fairness, ensuring inclusion is part of how the business operates day to day, not an add-on or a box-ticking exercise.

A Logistics Partner Built on Local People

At M&H Carriers, we believe trust is earned through consistency, reliability and local understanding. From our Highland headquarters to depots in Perth, Oban and beyond, our people are at the heart of everything we do.

Looking ahead to 2026, our focus remains on:

  • Supporting local jobs across Scotland
  • Investing in depot infrastructure and trunking capacity
  • Delivering reliable, compliant logistics services for Scottish businesses

And as a Scottish-based delivery and logistics company, we’re proud of the relationships we’ve built and the work we do every day across the country and beyond.

We’re ready for what comes next, and we’re committed to continuing to support businesses throughout Scotland, the Highlands, and beyond with dependable, people-led logistics.
