Scotland’s logistics sector is under pressure, and demand for skilled drivers has never been higher. Yet, across the country – in particular the Highlands – there simply aren’t enough qualified people behind the wheel. And for the businesses and communities that rely on regular deliveries, that shortage is more than an inconvenience: it’s a challenge that affects daily life.
That’s why, at M&H Carriers, we’ve launched our new Class 1 driver recruitment campaign.
We know that training costs can be a major barrier to getting started in logistics, so we’ve decided to remove it, by offering fully funded Class 1 training to people who want to build a career in an industry that’s becoming more important than ever to homes and businesses in the north of Scotland.
And there’s more. All new drivers will start on £15 an hour, with the opportunity to earn more as they gain experience. Better still, routes will be mainly focused on the Highlands and surrounding areas, meaning steady local and regional work without long weeks away from home. Furthermore, with our focus on career progression, drivers will also have access to ongoing training and support – with clear pathways into bigger roles as they grow.
By investing in people – from those starting their very first job to experienced hands ready for the next step – we’re building a workforce that can keep pace with demand, keep communities connected, and keep Scotland moving.
The only question now is… could you be who we’re looking for?
