Van Driver Jobs in Inverness.
A job that fits real life, not the other way around.
If you’re looking for van driver jobs in Inverness or van driver jobs near me, here’s what we have to offer: full-time, permanent work with local routes, regular hours and no nights away.
Why join M&H Carriers?
We’ve been part of the Highlands for more than 40 years, and our drivers have always been at the heart of what we do.
Local routes across Inverness and the Highlands.
Full-time permanent work, home every night.
Fair, consistent hours with overtime available.
A Scottish-owned company with long-term stability.
Clear progression into HGV Class 2 and Class 1.
Your day as an M&H van driver.
You’ll work as a multidrop van driver (Category B), delivering and collecting parcels across Inverness, Dingwall, Nairn, Aviemore and nearby areas. It’s hands-on, practical work: load the van, head out on your route, keep things moving.
But once you know the roads and the faces, it all becomes second nature.
Your Responsibilities
- Load, secure and handle parcels safely
- Use scanners and route-planning tools
- Complete deliveries and collections
- Carry out daily vehicle safety checks
- Speak with customers in a straightforward, friendly way
“Once you’ve got your usual route, you get to know the customers and the roads like the back of your hand. You’re delivering to the same people most days, so it becomes second nature. And if you’re not sure about something, there’s always someone who’ll help you out – plus there’s good banter, which makes a big difference.”
– Bailey, Class 1 Driver, Inverness

Do I need previous delivery experience?
Not necessarily. If you’ve driven a car or van confidently and you’re comfortable working on your feet, we’ll show you the rest. You’ll shadow experienced drivers until you’re ready to run your own route.
Do you supply the van?
Yes. You’ll use a company van that’s maintained and serviced. We also provide uniform and the equipment you need to do the job safely.
Is this a full-time job?
Yes. This is a permanent, full-time role with guaranteed hours each week – not agency or casual cover.
Are the routes local?
Yes. You’ll be covering regular runs across Inverness and surrounding Highland areas. Once you settle into your route, you’ll get to know the roads and the customers well. You start and finish at the Inverness depot every day, so you’re home when your shift ends – no nights away, no long-distance haulage.
Can I train for HGV later?
Yes. If you want to progress, we support training into Class 2 and Class 1. Many of our current HGV drivers started out in van roles here.
